CONNECT+ECHO is pleased to announce that we gave a presentation at Nexon Developers Conference 26 (NDC 26), a game developer conference held in South Korea.

NDC 26 is a conference where knowledge and insights are shared across a wide range of topics, including the use of AI in game development, planning, production, operations, and sound.

From CONNECT+ECHO, Kazuki Kitamura and Heejo Choi gave a presentation titled:
“You Called Us in at the End Again, Didn’t You? — A Look at the Development Structure Where Sound Always Joins Late”

In this session, we discussed modern game audio design, starting from the challenges that can arise when sound teams are brought into the development process during the later stages.

We shared the importance of viewing game sound not simply as the creation of sound effects or a final-stage production task, but as an essential part of the systems that shape the overall game experience.

In recent game development, various elements such as physics simulation, weather changes, environmental interaction, AI, and networking are linked together in real time.
As a result, sound is also required to go beyond simply playing in response to specific events, and instead be designed to change dynamically according to in-game states and data.

During the session, we also touched on the use of interactive audio middleware, the design area between programmers and sound designers, and the role of the Audio Technical Artist. Drawing on our experience in actual production environments, we discussed how sound can be incorporated into the development process from the early stages of a project.

This session was also featured by Korean game media.
